Racheal's story is part of my story - a story of love, loss, addiction, recovery, and the hope that remains.
Light a Candle Donate Buy a Copy of Rising Above HellShe was my daughter. She is forever 37 years old. She loved crafting - always making something with her hands. She loved her cats so much she used to joke she was one cat away from being a certified crazy cat lady. She was deeply artistic, always creating, and she had a real gift for it. She loved her two daughters more than anything in this world.
Addiction took her from me. But her addiction did not define her, and it never will. Her creativity did. Her love for her girls did. Her humor did. That's who she was, and that's who I'm going to keep showing people.
I've spent years writing about surviving hell and finding the light on the other side of it. Now I'm going after addiction directly, with everything I have. No more careful words. No more polite distance. If sharing my story, my book, or my time can stop even one more family from standing where I'm standing right now, then that's what I'm going to do.
Racheal's Light exists so that no one is kept from help because they couldn't afford a book or because they didn't know where to turn.

If you're struggling - trying to get clean, trying to stay clean, or watching someone you love go through it - I will talk to you. Not a script. Not a hotline transfer. Me.
This wall belongs to anyone who needs it - whether you're grieving someone the way I'm grieving Racheal, or you're in the fight to get clean or stay clean yourself. Leave a message for her. Leave a message for someone you've lost. Or leave a message for the person you're becoming. You don't have to explain yourself here. You just have to be honest.
A quiet place for remembrance, hope and recovery.
Every message here is a light someone didn't have to carry alone.
This page is dedicated to my daughter, Racheal. Every copy passed forward carries a piece of her light with it.
